Multiplication is the process of repeated addition. The result of multiplication is called product.
For example: 3 x 5 = 5 + 5 +5 = 15
Multiplication is a commutative operation, that is, changing the order of the numbers does not affect the product.
For example, 6 x 3 = 18 is the same with 3 x 6 = 18.

In math multiplication, I noticed that most of kids tend to make such a mistake as below. The mistake at printable multiplication problem for 3 digit number can be applied also at 2 digit or 4 digit numbers too.
For example: 216 x 100 =

Kids always multiply 6 x 0 = 0, 1 x 0 = 0 and 2 x 1 = 2.
The same mistake goes for four digit numbers when multiply by 10 and two digit numbers by 1000.
Example 1: 2172 x 10 =

Example 2: 56 x 1000 =

In mathematics, multiplication is one of four main operations in elementary arithmetic, and most people learn basic multiplication algorithms in elementary school. The inverse of multiplication is division.
