Decimal fractions are commonly expressed without a denominator, the decimal separator being inserted into the numerator (with leading zeros added if needed), at the position from the right corresponding to the power of ten of the denominator in math.
e.g., 8/10, 83/100, 83/1000, and 8/10000 are expressed as: 0.8, 0.83, 0.083, and 0.0008.
How To Multiply Decimals
First you can try to forget the fact that the decimals are there. Just like the following.

After that multiply the factors as if the decimals were not there.

Then count the places o the numerals on the right of the decimals in the factors. Adding them up and move the decimal that many places to the left in the product.

When you multiply decimal fractions or mixed decimals, you use the same procedure as for whole numbers. Then you locate the position of the decimal point.
If you were working on a job at a salary of $1.50 per hour, how much money would you make if you worked 48 hours?

You will receive $72.00 for 48 hours work. Let’s see how you solve this problem.
