Helping Kids Solve Math Problems Quickly & Easily

Helping Kids Solve Math Problems Quickly & Easily

Do you honestly want to help your kid to solve their math problems? Have you ever wonder how some kids in the school have shown excellent performance in math? The tips which I will be listed and described here provide useful ground to both parents and teachers to help their kids discover the magic tips that bring your kids to solve their math problems.

1. Ask many questions.

Always encourage your kids to seek math help.  If they don’t understand something, ask the teacher, because they won’t be going to suddenly understand the question by simply staring at the problem.

Even Einstein also asked questions around, so why shouldn’t encourage your kid to clear their doubt by asking the questions.

If the kids still need help, always encourage them to ask the teacher if there is somewhere they can go for assistance.

If there is a study hall or tutoring program, or ask if a teacher could give them extra help before or after class.

2. Note Down Key Points

After each math lesson, try to write down the key points somewhere on a piece of paper, and file it somewhere. Also try to write down the different sample problems from that topic, as well as the different solutions needed to solve it. If a problem can have more than one way of being solved, write down all the ways. As most math problems have an easy way and a hard way to solve, and the easy way may be a different method each time. Asking the kids to make their own notes are much more effective than school notes or reference books, since they have to write them themselves and understand them.

3. Self Explanation

If the kids really have no idea how to solve a math question, then, try to get the solution somehow, either from a teacher or a friend. But it is important to remember to ask him to jot down notes at the side of each step of math working, and going through some self explaining why it is done. Always encourage them to look through it and see if there is a shorter way to solve that particular type of math question.

4. Understanding

Everything learn in a math class can be logically derived, and it is up to the math kids to understand the logic behind the formulas they use. If they don’t understand or can’t prove the math formula they use, then it may be hard for them to apply in the math questions after. As understand the math formula from where it comes from is important to help the kids’ ability to recall it during the test. Furthermore, in a testing environment, it is much easier to re-deduce than to remember, and questions are always easily modified to make a standard working invalid.

This should help you get you started with your solving kid math problem efforts. The great part about this method of solving math problem is that kids will no more scare about math and may enjoy the fun of math after they had monitor the methods.
