Addition Math Regrouping Worksheets Lesson
It is important that kids know to do addition to make a first move in math.
To teach kids addition, you need to know that addition is a process of finding the sum or total of two or more numbers.
In this lesson, I will like to show you two types of addition; addition without regrouping and addition with regrouping.
Addition of two or more numbers can be expressed in two different forms:
(a) Number sentence (horizontal form)
1234 + 215 + 10110 = 11559
(b) Standard form ( vertical form)
1 2 3 4
2 1 5
+ 10 1 1 0
11 5 5 9
However, it is easier to find the sum of two or more numbers by using vertical form when regrouping is involved.
It only involves few steps when we add up the numbers.
Normally, you just have to write the numbers in the vertical form and according to their own place value. Then add up the digits in the numbers from right to left.

Addition Without Regrouping |
Addition without regrouping is pretty easy, it just involved simple calculation by adding two or more numbers.
For example :
Remember, you just have to write the numbers in the vertical form and according to their own place value. Then add up the digits in the numbers from right to left.
Addition with regrouping involved little more calculation than addition without regrouping.
You can just follow the guideline below in the addition with regrouping process.
(a) All the digits must arrange according to their place value.
(b) Always start adding from the left to right, by adding digits in the ‘ones’ column, then the ‘tens’ column, followed by the ‘hundreds’ column and so on.
(c) Regrouping only necessary when the sum of numbers is 10 or greater.

I hope few examples given in addition math regrouping lesson are useful to you. Enjoy!
